The project “Efficient Farm Management” was launched on the 12th of March 2018. The duration of the project is one year. The project is implemented under the activity “Support for the establishment and development of European Innovation Partnership (EIP) operational groups” of the measure “Cooperation” of the Lithuanian Rural Development Program for 2014-2020. The project is being implemented by Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian Economics (LAEI), consulting firm UAB ART21, three agricultural companies and five family farms.
The aim of the project is to combine the knowledge of scientific institutions, consultants and farmers to promote advanced technologies and innovations, increasing crop efficiency, developing and implementing innovative farming instruments, ensuring sustainable agricultural development and reducing the negative environmental impact of farming and addressing soil erosion.
The project aims to develop an innovative methodology concerning the research with help of drone, which identify soil organic matter, moisture content of the plants, amount of stones and soil humus content. Additionally, the project captures assessment of farm performance and selection an effective sustainable farming models, taking into account soil, environmental conditions, farm size, agricultural branch and optimal use of machinery. The result of mentioned project is method of a sustainable farming, which enables to create preconditions for increasing the efficiency of economic activity, improving the quality of production and reducing the negative impact of farming on the environment.
